
Class Description
A selection of Yuki’s favourite home-cooked dishes from Japan provides the basis for this Japanese cooking lesson. This will offer an introduction to some different styles and lesser known dishes. Japanese Curry and Rice; Care-raisu and Gyoza which are Japanese style dumpling are incredibly popular dishes in Japan. Other popular dishes which will be demonstrated are Donburi or Don, which means rice bowl. Yuki will introduce different type of this dish such as Oyako-donburi or Gyu-don. “This class originates from my own up-bringing in the Japanese countryside and is based on mum’s cooking!”You will learn how to make sauces, use Japanese ingredients and spices, soups and steam Japanese rice or noodles. Yuki will recommend Japanese grocery suppliers and give you some suggestions for shopping there. You can learn more about setting the table and Japanese food culture during the meal. Some food can be taken home.
