Yuki's Kitchen is, until the end of September, in Ealing, West London. Classes take place in my home which is located in Ealing Village, a 1930s development that provided housing for the workers of the nearby Ealing Film Studios. A bit of glamour in West London!

From the beginning of October 2011, I am pleased to announce that Yuki's Kitchen will be moving to Crystal Palace. I am very excited to be moving to this friendly and lively part of London!

Yuki's Kitchen is based in Crystal Palace, the nearest stations are Crystal Palace or Gypsy Hill. Crystal Palace is on the East London Line, or there are direct trains from London Victoria and London Bridge to both stations. It is also well served from stations in the South of the UK. There are buses from Clapham and Balham.

You don't really need to wear any particular clothes, aprons for example, or bring any equipment. So please wear whatever you feel comfortable in!

Class size is normally 4-6 people for scheduled classes, I believe this is best as it allows closer attention and plenty of time for questions and discussion from everyone.

I occasionally organise gourmet workshops, which are typically from 12-15 and offer a chance to socialise, with fellow foodies over a glass of wine.

Private lessons can be arranged for any number of people. I often teach 1 or 2 people alone or have taught up to 40 people at one time.

Yes, I am always happy to help so give me a ring, if I am not teaching I will do my best to answer. As long as you are not cooking at 5 am of course!

A new Japanese restaurant or noodle-bar seems to open every other week in London. However, despite the increasing popularity, very few people cook Japanese food at home. Perhaps people feel intimidated by the formality and prestige of the famous and expensive sushi restaurants. Or perhaps it just seems too foreign and complicated. Japanese home cooking is really simple.

My mission is to bring Japanese food to the home table. To show people that it’s really simple to make, it can easily be incorporated into your daily life, and it is one of the healthiest ways to eat your meals.

Japanese home cooking is an accessible cuisine for everyone, with a wide range of dishes and ingredients to suit every mood, taste and occasion. Not only is Japanese food healthy, it is a joy to cook and to eat. I’d like to let people know that the traditional home-cooked recipes can be easily made at home with just a few simple steps. It will certainly enhance your relationship and appreciation of food, and bring another dimension to pleasure of eating.

Join me on this journey of discovery!

Yes, there is parking available outside the house or on the driveway.

An average class is 2 to 2.5 hours. Plenty of time to enjoy the food and conversation!

Anything you are comfortable in! There may be the odd stray bit of sushi rice so perhaps don't wear your best.

From 5 to 15 years old is ideal. There is a private parents & kid's lesson, or a children's workshop for three children or more. The youngest I have taught is 5 years old. I do get booked out during school holidays, so it is best to plan a few weeks in advance. I can also easily plan for any dietary requirements.

Yes, I can travel to your event. I often do birthday events and they are great fun. I have organised workshops for up to 22 children before. I usually recommend that we plan for an assistant or other parents to attend during the party. I also usually provide vegetarian options too, so that everyone is enjoys the food. Please get in touch to talk through your plans.

That's fine, the class and date can be chosen later, subject to availability, but I always work hard to make sure people get the class or lesson they would like.

Please always let me know about any allergies you have when booking so that ingredients and arrangements can be made. For example in this case, I  will use a gluten free soy sauce called Tamari sauce and a soy/rice based Miso.

Yes, I often travel to client's houses and can do this for private lessons or events. There is a charge to cover my travel costs.

I would recommend a private class, it is best to gather some friends to enjoy it together or come by yourself. We can plan a menu together and the skills we will cover.
